Re: Here's a site worth checking out...
Thu, February 26, 2004 - 7:29 PMYou're welcome. I joined that particular church in 2001. I was baptised Russian Orthodoz by my dad, but was raised Lutheran after my mother had the fanily convert. I went back to Orthodoxy because I had never really gotten to learn about it and because I needed to get back into the spiritual side of things.
So what's your story? -

My story
Thu, February 26, 2004 - 8:44 PMCatholic father, Protestant mother. Public schools, Quaker college, secular university. Studied Byzantine and modern Greek history in Greece with the late Philip Sherrard my last year in college. Continued studying on my own while practicing the Latin rite. Five or six years joined St. Michael's on Mulberry Street and petitioned for and received a transfer to the Russian Catholic Church. I am also involved with the Transfiguration Community, associated with the Hosanna Community founded by some friends of Fr. Alexander Men in Moscow. The parish website seems to be down at the moment, but here is a link to the blog of the remarkable +Seraphim www.livejournal.com/users/se...sigrist/, who is of course OCA.
